CCR Post-Production

After filming both of my Creative Critical Reflections, editing them was a relatively quick and efficient process likely because of the vision I had when creating the two. The ideas I had, I stuck to and I just fully committed to working toward a final goal that I wanted to achieve. It took a similar level of creativity for the pre-production as it did for my production. It took me a while creating the perfect designs for my reflections, but after this I managed to 'perfect' them and they turned out looking very well.

I am not sure if it's my phone or Premiere Pro or my desktop, but the videos did not have great clarity. The video came out pretty choppy and chunky. Even after rendering. I don't know, but I seemed to work around that and I'm proud of the product that came out of my hard work.

CCR Inspiration

For this media blog we have to create two different kinds of media and reflect on some of our choices, looking back on what we did well or what we did not do very well.

This is the inspiration of my first CCR. I thought it would be very funny to create a game show to answer some of my questions. Through the use of my own editing techniques and graphics the actual product proved to be pretty comedic and fun. So I used a style similar to that of Family Feud (1976-present)

This is just a trailer because I don't want to make you sit through a 15 minute video right now, but here is half the inspiration for my second CCR. I mixed this with a conventional, question answering vlog or a Q and A, that is seen all around YouTube. I thought this could also be funny and work to get the message across at the same time. Unfortunately, for that example I could not find a shorter version. This mixed with shots from my own film opening and other films create an engaging presentation of answering questions instead of just answering them.

KINGS of IMPROVISATION

An issue we had when filming our opening was that we had originally planned to have my partner's mom for some of the scenes of the opening. Unfortunately, she was not available to film the day that we planned, so we had to change up the script.

With that we thought we were going to be pressed for time so we got nervous, but it all ended up working for us for the better. We changed our storyboard and our overall video worked out.

In the world of filmmaking, the ability to improvise is an essential skill. Whether it's dealing with unexpected setbacks or coming up with creative solutions on the fly, the ability to think outside the box can make all the difference in the success of a project.

We were able to pivot our original plan and still create a successful video. It's a testament to our creativity and resourcefulness. My partner and I make a great team, and our ability to work together and adapt to changing circumstances is something I am grateful for.

In the end, the mark of a great filmmaker is not just their ability to plan and execute a vision, but also their ability to adapt to unexpected challenges and create something truly unique and memorable.

Post-Production Film Opening

The post-production of the film opening was a rough process. Initially, we did not have all of the footage that we needed for our production to work out. There were issues with continuity and issues with how long the film opening was. All this just worked itself out in the end. All it took was some cutting of unnecessary clips, cleaner transitions, and overall watching and re-watching the film opening so many times I could recite every shot in its order. Just to make sure that it looks almost as nice as I thought in my head. The overall execution was exactly how I planned.

There were certain techniques that I used just to give the film opening that edge that it needed. Normally, with the drama genre, the films are as realistic as possible. My partner and I really wanted to incorporate music into our film opening and he just so happened to have a record player. The only issue is the only label less record he had was one by the artist Bruno Mars. Obviously, Bruno Mars is a huge artist and had claims over all of his music so we had to find a song off of YouTube audio library. This meant I needed to download the song first and then import it into the film opening. The only issue with this is that it does not sound real. I was playing around with some effects and came across reverb and set it to a setting called "Drum Room" and it made the song sound as if it were in an empty room as we intended.

Critical Reflection

The idea for the project “Band Together” really did not come to me instantly. My first thought was to create a documentary about a company...
